OPEN POSITIONS

Account Manager

Full Time

Location: Wall, NJ

Role and Responsibilities

The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients. Through a variety of day-to-day contact, the Account Manager acts as an advocate for his/her clients, working with carriers, general agents, vendors, and internal staff to ensure that the clients’ needs are understood and satisfied.

Account Service

  • Handle service requests for clients (corrections, claims, billing, plan change issues, enrollments, etc.)
  • Acquire expected timeframes and set proper expectations with clients for issue resolution
  • Escalate issues as necessary to ensure proper resolution • Provide clients compliance assistance including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, etc., ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Ensure that all correspondence, documentation, and notes related to service issues are logged according to company guidelines

New Business Opportunities / Retention

  • Review, analyze, and negotiate renewals with insurance carriers and general agents
  • Prepare quotes, plan comparisons, and proposals for new and existing clients
  • Where applicable, manage the RFP process with carriers and general agents to obtain the best possible quotes for new business and renewals
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell to existing clients
  • Act as subject matter expert on all carrier products for all lines of coverage for local market to assist clients with selection of best plans for their business
  • Communicate proactively with clients regarding changes to plan designs and procedures that will affect them
  • Attend/conduct client Open Enrollment meetings as needed
  • Oversee all carrier submission and installation requirements to ensure that all submissions are accurate and timely
  • For clients who use an enrollment portal, manage the creation and maintenance of the portal and ensure that EDI processes are implemented properly
  • Produce benefit overviews and other documentation as requested by client
  • Participate in weekly status update meetings and bring attention to any anticipated issues or delays before they escalate
  • Maintain electronic account files to reflect all activity and correspondence.

Sales Team Support

  • Participate in discussions with and/or presentations to prospective clients
  • Participate in the creation of new business proposals
  • Represent Blue Ocean at industry or networking events as needed

Position Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in group health insurance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • NJ Life and Health License required
  • Applicant must sign an Employee Confidentiality, Non-Competition and Non-Solicitation Agreement
Sales Executive

Full Time

Location: Wall, NJ

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic B2B Sales Executive to kick start our Sales Department.
The ideal candidate will have a proven history of success selling to senior level executives and business owners in small to mid-size companies.  You will be contacting a large volume of potential customers on a daily basis with a mix of phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings, always with an unwavering focus on unlocking new opportunities and then converting those opportunities into clients.
We are in the employee benefits business, but we hire performers, not backgrounds.  If you’re great at selling, it doesn’t matter if are new to this industry.  We’ll train someone who has everything we want.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate new business opportunities through cold calling, email, and networking activities, following up relentlessly to generate interest in Blue Ocean’s offerings
  • Utilize CRM effectively to manage an accurate sales pipeline, maintain call logs, document updates
  • Collaborate with internal and external product specialists to develop custom proposals, then present recommended benefits strategies, costs, risks, etc. to prospective clients
  • Build and enhance relationships with clients/prospects
  • Coordinate the seamless transition of sold business to Account Management teams
 
Qualification and Skills:
  • 2-5 years B2B sales preferred (experience selling employee benefits, payroll or HR products is especially helpful)
  • Deliberate and skilled communicator, adept at building and nurturing relationships and trust
  • Positive attitude, results-oriented, and a self-starter
  • High level of responsiveness and thorough follow-through
  • Must be available to travel to client locations throughout New Jersey and New York

Compensation / Benefits
You will be highly compensated for outstanding results through a combination of salary and commission on new business.  We don’t cap commission, so the earning potential is unlimited – the more you sell, the more you earn!  If you’re awesome, you will be making six figures by your second year.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, LTD and Life plus a 401K.  We pay 100% of the medical benefits for you personally and match your 401K once eligible at up to 4%. For a small business, our benefits are top notch. This makes sense – we are a benefits consulting firm, after all!
